Improve Academic Performance & Reduce Test Anxiety


Attention Teens: Ease Mid-Term Test Anxiety


The experts at Shoreline Hypnosis will help students achieve their academic goals by teaching techniques that will help them perform optimally during exams. Using interactive activities participants will learn proven strategies to reduce test anxiety and manage stress before and during exams. 

January 7th at 2:30 
Session I: Basic stress reduction techniques to combat test anxiety.

January 9th at 2:30
Session II:  Advanced  techniques to reduce test anxiety.

Both sessions are interactive. Participants will learn and practice these techniques in a group setting.   Snacks and water provided.

Long time chef and chocolate expert Maria Brandriff will demonstrate that it just may be possible to eat more healthily with chocolate! Chocolate Wars is a kind of taste-off, where participants will have the opportunity to compare the type of decadent chocolate desserts that we all know and love with a lighter healthier version. Recipes and ample samples will be available.

"Jack Kennedy: Elusive Hero" Book Discussion 1/6/14



 

Retired educator Kathleen Amoia will be leading a discussion about Chris Mathew’s book “Jack Kennedy: Elusive Hero" at the Henry Carter Hull Library on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 2 pm.

The discussion will include Kennedy's naval experience, political career, and  issues facing the newly elected president. Participants are encouraged but not required to read the book before attending. Please register at hchlibrary.org.

Come to the HCH Teen Room on Wednesday, December18th starting at 2:30 and experience the latest trend in holiday hair! Tiny stands of colored tinsel will be woven in your hair for an special holiday look that will last for two weeks. Eliot students can take bus # 14 to the library with a note from a parent.

Ukulele workshop with Jumpin' Jim Beloff at Clinton Library 1/5/2014


Ukulele expert Jumpin' Jim Beloff 
will be conducting an interactive ukulele workshop at the Henry Carter Hull Library on
Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 1:30 pm

Participants are encouraged to bring a GCEA soprano-tuned ukulele and Beloff will introduce the basics of playing the ukulele including holding, tuning, strumming and making the chords. 

Beloff is the author of The Ukulele—A Visual History and author, compiler and publisher of the popular Jumpin’ Jim’s series of ukulele songbooks.
