Nancy Elizabeth's vibrant cut-paper illustrations dazzle us.  Her stories, featuring a delightful rabbit family, let us learn about the world, from pond life, to recycling to shells. 
Find out how she creates her books and try your own cut-paper illustrations. 
Prepared for students in Grades K-3.

Take Your Child To the Library Day




The Henry Carter Hull Library will celebrate Take Your Child To The Library Day on Saturday, February 4, 2012, with a variety of activities for families with children of all ages.

11:00 Author Nancy Elizabeth Wallace will read her beloved book, The Valentine  Express, and demonstrate for children in Grades K-3 how she crafted the vibrant cut-paper illustrations. Participants will be able to create and take home a beautiful, hand-made valentine. Please register on-line at hchlibrary.org.

12:30 Curious Creatures invade the Community Room! Meet a variety of furry, scaly and feathery live animals and learn about their habits and habitats.

Chocolate for your Health POSTPONED


Due to impending weather reports, the program Chocolate for your Health has been POSTPONED to Saturday, February 25, 2012.
 
With the holidays over and the time for over-indulging behind us, we naturally begin to focus on healthy eating and exercise. But can you have your cake (or to be more precise, your chocolate) and eat it, too? Long time chef and chocolate expert Maria Brandriff will demonstrate that it just may be possible! Her talk will focus on dark chocolate and its newly discovered health benefits. Ms. Brandriff will demonstrate how dark chocolate can be used both in lighter healthier desserts and in savory courses. There will be samples and recipes.  Please register.
