Celebrating Adoptive Families

November 12, 2010
In honor of Adoption Awareness Month, the library will hold an all-day information session and celebration of adoptive families in the Community Room. Representatives from the state Foster Care and Adoptive Services Department will be on hand to answer any questions from prospective families. Displays will showcase free library resources. Two story hours with crafts will welcome all families, but a special invitation goes out to families made through adoption or fostering. The November 12, 2010 morning storytime will begin at 10:30 and the afternoon session will begin at 3:30.No registration is necessary for these events.

Depressive moments seize all of us, but for Abraham Lincoln, depression could lead to a prolonged mental collapse. At this program, Mr. McKiernan will explore the possible causes of Lincoln’s depression and how he battle against his illness to remain stable. Lincoln offers an intriguing study of the ways he handled his depressive assaults: Did they influence his presidency? Registration is not required.
