Centennial Birthday Celebration:
February 18, 2010 at 6:00 p.m.

A centennial celebration will be held at the Henry Carter Hull Library on February 18th, 2010 at 6:00 pm to mark the 100th anniversary of the library’s incorporation and to honor the library’s founders Arabelle Meigs Hull and Henry Carter Hull.

This free event will feature a talk by Board Member Patsy Kumekawa and librarian David Boudinot on the history of the library. Cupcakes and refreshments will be available for all. Registration is not required.


Big Two Day Sale @ HCH Library: 2/19/10 - 2/20/10

Two Day Videocassette, Books on Audiocassette & Picture Book Sale!

On Feb. 19th & 20th, 2010, The Henry Carter Hull Library will host a two day sale on used videocassettes, audio books on cassette and picture books.

The sale will be held on Friday, February 19th, from 9am – 5pm and Saturday, February 20th, from 10am – 4pm in the Library Community Room. Movies are $1 and books are 50 cents each. All proceeds will benefit the library.

Career Express Bus to offer job search assistance

Career Bus CANCELLED due to Impending Weather

The Connecticut Department of Labor Career Express Bus is cancelled for Wednesday 2/9/10. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Jobseekers can conduct online job searches, learn about job search resources in the mobile computer lab on the bus, or have their résumé critiqued by a Certified Professional Résumé Writer. Assistance will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis and information about the Department of Labor/CTWorks career centers and services will be available.

Killingworth author John Herbert to visit HCH Library January 27, 2010

John Herbert, author of the memoir Rules Get Broken, will discuss his book at the Henry Carter Hull Library on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 6:30 pm.

Rules Get Broken is the story of the death of Herbert’s wife shortly after she was diagnosed with leukemia and the unlikely relationship that followed with his neighbor.

Herbert’s heartbreaking journey from love lost to love found explores society’s unwritten rules about how a person is supposed to grieve.
