Connecticut Bar Association presents free legal workshop at HCH Library

Representatives from the Connecticut Bar Association are providing an Adult Civic Education workshop at the Henry Carter Hull Library on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 6:00 pm in the Community Room.

Volunteer attorneys will facilitate a two-hour program in which real-life legal scenarios will be examined. Wiretapping, the death penalty, the right to die, eminent domain, and other state and federal legal issues will be discussed.

Wii for Seniors at the Henry Carter Hull Library on Thursdays

The Henry Carter Hull Library is offering a weekly Nintendo Wii program for adults beginning September 11, 2008 through November 20th, 2008.
Instruction will be provided every Thursday between 10 to 12 noon on how to use the Wii and play games such as bowling, boxing, baseball, golf, and tennis.
All adults are welcome to this weekly program and no registration is required.

Binky Concert Huge Success!!

Over 180 people attended the live Binky concert on the Henry Carter Hull Library lawn on Tuesday evening, 8/26/08 to celebrate the library's 1oth year at the Killingworth Turnpike location. Families enjoyed free lemonade, free HCH Library bags, beautiful weather and the triumphant return of Binky.

Daniel W. Smith presents photos of Afghanistan and Iraq at Clinton Library Sept. 8

CLINTON – Photojournalist Daniel W. Smith is presenting a slide show of his photographs from Afghanistan and Iraq at the Henry Carter Hull Library on Monday, September 8, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. in the library's Community Room as part of the library's "From Behind the Lens" lecture series. Smith is the Baghdad correspondent for Bahrain TV English, he blogs for the New Haven Advocate, and works as a photographer for various non-governmental organizations. He currently lives in Baghdad, but is based in New Haven.
"From Behind the Lens" is a special Henry Carter Hull Library series of free slide show presentations given by photographers and photojournalists who specialize in different types of photography.
