David Rau, the Director of Education at the Florence Griswold Museum, is giving a free lecture at the Henry Carter Hull Library in Clinton on Tuesday, January 29 at 6:30 pm. His lecture is titled “An Alphabetical Introduction to the Past, Present, and Future of the Florence Griswold Museum.”

Rau will share the history of the museum, discuss current and future exhibitions, and show examples of American Impressionist art.

The Florence Griswold Museum, located in Old Lyme, Connecticut, is considered to be the home of American Impressionism.

This event is part of “Museums at the Library,” a lecture series at the Henry Carter Hull Library which showcases many New England area museums throughout the winter.

“Museums at the Library” is a forum for the public to interact with curators, directors, education coordinators, and docents from many of New England’s finest museums. Several of the museums will show slides of art from their collections, and in some cases, will bring real artifacts and memorabilia to Clinton.

Each lecture is free and no registration is required.
