Author Frances Madeson will be putting on a performance and reading from portions of her novel “Cooperative Village,” at the Henry Carter Hull Library in Clinton, Connecticut on Thursday April 17, 2008 at 6:00 pm. A discussion about the USA PATRIOT Act and book signing will follow.

“Cooperative Village” is a humorous novel about a woman who discovers the dead body of an elderly neighbor on the laundry room floor of her apartment building. What follows is a strange and over-the-top tale of life, love, and liberty in lower Manhattan which involves libraries, the USA PATRIOT Act, and how to get through the complexities of a 21st-century American urban village.

Playwright and novelist, Frances Madeson, began her career as a Legislative Aide in the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Education and Labor in Washington, D.C., and has worked in New York City law firms and nonprofit organizations for more than 20 years. Cooperative Village is her debut book.

This event is part of a week long celebration of National Library Week from April 13 - 19 at the Henry Carter Hull Library.

Madeson's book will be available for purchase at this free event. Registration is required.
