Ned Farrell, a Certified Feng Shui Consultant, will be speaking at the Henry Carter Hull Library in Clinton on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 6:30 pm.

His lecture “Finding Your Hidden Energy with Feng Shui” covers the benefits of Feng Shui including stress reduction, how to be more focused, how to enrich your relationships, and how to improve financial opportunity.

Feng Shui is the Chinese practice of arranging space and placing objects to achieve harmony with the environment.

Farrell gives an eye-opening and entertaining look into what Feng Shui is and how you can use it to your own advantage.

Meteorologist Art Horn will be speaking at the Henry Carter Hull Library in Clinton on Monday, December 3, 2007 at 6:30 pm. His lecture “Global Warming: Fact or Fiction” covers the history of climate change, how carbon dioxide contributes to the greenhouse effect, and how media perceptions of global warming have changed in the past 30 years.

Horn, a hurricane-chaser and former weatherman for Hartford’s NBC 30, says, “I touch on issues like how we measure temperature and what problems there are with the measurements…then I move on to hurricanes and how and if they are affected by global warming.”

Ocean cycles, carbon dioxide, the greenhouse effect, hurricanes, and how the sun affects temperature will all be discussed at Horn’s lecture.

The Russ Becker Quartet is performing a free jazz concert at the Henry Carter Hull Library in Clinton on Sunday, January 6, 2008 at 12:30 pm. The concert will kick off the library’s new winter hours and an exciting three months of Sunday programs.

This concert is free and open to the public.

The Russ Becker Quartet is comprised of Russ Becker on saxophone and clarinet, Stephen Roane on guitar, Matthew McCaulley on bass, and Jason Apostoleris on drums.

In addition to regular business hours, The Henry Carter Hull Library will be open on Sundays between 12-4 pm during January through March 2008.

The Henry Carter Hull Library in Clinton is happy to announce "Museums at the Library," a lecture series which will showcase many New England area museums throughout the winter.

The New England Air Museum, Florence Griswold Museum, Basketball Hall of Fame, and Mashantucket Pequot Museum have confirmed dates to give presentations at the Henry Carter Hull Library.

Museums at the Library is a forum for the public to interact with curators, directors, and education coordinators from many of New England's finest museums. Several of the museums will show slides of art from their collections, and in some cases, will bring real artifacts and memorabilia to Clinton.

Each lecture is free and no registration is required.
